I finally got to meet Hugging Face/Pollen Robotics' Reachy Mini "in person." We are all striving to be as charming. Stefan Weitz is trying hard as uncle Thomas is watching. Reachy is not just cute, it is a great interactive learning platform with open source code and hardware for experimenting with robotics and human-robot interaction. This robot is a smashing success (literally smashing through the initial sales goal with 3,000 units sold in the first 5 days), which means that there is a growing community of folks having fun and sharing (on Hugging Face 🤗) their learnings. This is a quintessential open-source project, which is not easy when it comes to hardware, and Hugging Face (which acquired Pollen Robotics in April 2025) nailed it, positioning it as an open-source physical AI platform.
