Kahneman

Artificial Intelligence

Daniel Kahneman passed away at 90. He was not just a 2002 Nobel laureate in economics and the co-creator with the late Amos Tversky of some of the most insightful (and simple) psychology experiments that paved the way for Behavioral Economics to become a field of study. He was also a wonderful man with a great sense of humor, a sometimes neighbor in the Berkeley Hills and always had something unique to say on topics he felt he had sufficient knowledge of. I was fortunate to meet him a number of times at CASBS at Stanford, Minerva Collegium or with Stephen M. Kosslyn. Instead of linking to an obituary, here is a brief history of CASBS's role in the development of Behavioral Economics, with a 1977 picture of Danny with lots of hair. You can see from the picture that he is ready to make a joke.
